Stay Low Climb High - Worship Song - Athletes
Being an older athlete has its downfalls. Injuries, lack of strength, no running speed and more have left me feeling inadequate. The Fellowship of Christian Athletes has been a part ...of my daily devotion and these lyrics were inspired from a recent Daily Impact.
During a time when I was losing friends, feeling alone, and my life was shifting into what looked like a dead end in trail running and life. I was in a season of suffering. I felt like stones were being thrown at me while I was drowning in water.
You see, God didn't intend a life that was easy for me. If He wanted a life easy for me, that would mean I would be doing life without God. During that time of losing friends, God showed me that the cost of following Him is heavy, but I wasn't meant to carry it all alone. During the time of feeling lonely, God showed me that when things happen in life, He doesn't shift at all; I am the one who shifts. During the time of feeling like my career was a dead end, He showed me that I am more important to Him than what my hands and feet can do. The phrase reminding me to stay low regardless of my circumstances made God be God and not my circumstances.
Romans 5:2-5 reminds us that we are promised some form of suffering. Our Lord and Savior suffered, so what makes us think the children of God won't? But remember God and His words: "Because we know that affliction produces endurance, endurance produces proven character, and proven character produces hope." This is what we live by, knowing what is ahead. The greatest promise of all is that we are not alone in suffering but comforted by the Lord of Hosts.
Stay low and faithful. Rejoice in the sufferings, because you are becoming more like Jesus. God did not promise us an easy life, but a life that is never separated from Him.
Dude, there's one part of this song I especially want you to carry into tomorrow:
"I don't need to hold tomorrow... when tomorrow's in Your hands."
And the other line that gets me:
"I tell You I trust You, then take it all back."
Because that's the struggle, isn't it? We surrender our worries in prayer, and sometimes five minutes later we're carrying them again.
But here's the encouragement from those five scriptures: God doesn't promise that we'll never face another storm. He promises we won't face it without Him.
And maybe that's what Let Go and Let God really means. Not that we stop walking, stop trying, or stop caring. We simply stop believing we have to carry everything ourselves.
Keep walking with Jesus, brother. One day, one prayer, one surrendered fear at a time. 🙏✝️🔥

Letting Go Of The Reins - Country Rock Gospel
Today I'm reminded from a devotional, Let Go and Let God, that Our ...
Today I'm reminded from a devotional, Let Go and Let God, that Our Father is always with us leading.
Five strong verses for this are:
Joshua 1:9 9 This is my command—be ...strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”
Isaiah 41:13 For I hold you by your right hand—
I, the Lord your God.
And I say to you,
‘Don’t be afraid. I am here to help you.
Deuteronomy 31:8 8 Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord will personally go ahead of you. He will be with you; he will neither fail you nor abandon you.”
Isaiah 41:10 Don’t be afraid, for I am with you.
Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you.
I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.
Psalms 118:6 The Lord is for me, so I will have no fear.
What can mere people do to me?
We know God is with us. We know His promises. But sometimes our fears are louder than our faith. We try to carry burdens that God has already offered to carry for us.
There's one part of this song I hope you'll carry into tomorrow:
"I don't need to hold tomorrow... when tomorrow's in Your hands."
And the other line that gets me:
"I tell You I trust You, then take it all back."

Already Accepted - Worship Song - Galatians 1:10

Galatians 1:10 “Am I now trying to win the approval of human beings, or of God? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still trying to please ...people, I would not be a servant of Christ.” -
Walking with Jesus happens when we live from acceptance — instead of striving for acceptance. Tomorrow you'll face expectations, comparisons, opportunities, disappointments and conversations that quietly ask, "Who do you need to be today?" Whether you're in a classroom, at practice, at work or at home, every audience is different. You negotiate situations but not your identity. Your belonging in Christ is secure.
We don't live for God's acceptance. We live from it. We don't negotiate our identity because we don't need to negotiate our acceptance. Live from acceptance—not for acceptance.
“Already Accepted” carries such a powerful truth. We don't have to prove our worth to the world when we already belong to Jesus.
Live FROM His love, not FOR His approval.
Keep walking strong in faith. God isn't finished writing your story! 🎸✝️🙏

The Lord Knows How to Rescue - Worship Song -2 Peter 2
2 Peter 2 “But there were also false prophets in Israel, just as there ...
2 Peter 2 “But there were also false prophets in Israel, just as there will be false teachers among you. They will cleverly teach destructive heresies and even deny the ...Master who bought them. In this way, they will bring sudden destruction on themselves. Many will follow their evil teaching and shameful immorality. And because of these teachers, the way of truth will be slandered. In their greed they will make up clever lies to get hold of your money. But God condemned them long ago, and their destruction will not be delayed. For God did not spare even the angels who sinned. He threw them into hell, in gloomy pits of darkness, where they are being held until the day of judgment. And God did not spare the ancient world—except for Noah and the seven others in his family. Noah warned the world of God’s righteous judgment. So God protected Noah when he destroyed the world of ungodly people with a vast flood. Later, God condemned the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah and turned them into heaps of ashes. He made them an example of what will happen to ungodly people. But God also rescued Lot out of Sodom because he was a righteous man who was sick of the shameful immorality of the wicked people around him. Yes, Lot was a righteous man who was tormented in his soul by the wickedness he saw and heard day after day. So you see, the Lord knows how to rescue godly people from their trials, even while keeping the wicked under punishment until the day of final judgment. He is especially hard on those who follow their own twisted sexual desire, and who despise authority. These people are proud and arrogant, daring even to scoff at supernatural beings without so much as trembling. But the angels, who are far greater in power and strength, do not dare to bring from the Lord a charge of blasphemy against those supernatural beings. These false teachers are like unthinking animals, creatures of instinct, born to be caught and destroyed. They scoff at things they do not understand, and like animals, they will be destroyed. Their destruction is their reward for the harm they have done. They love to indulge in evil pleasures in broad daylight. They are a disgrace and a stain among you. They delight in deception even as they eat with you in your fellowship meals. They commit adultery with their eyes, and their desire for sin is never satisfied. They lure unstable people into sin, and they are well trained in greed. They live under God’s curse. They have wandered off the right road and followed the footsteps of Balaam son of Beor, who loved to earn money by doing wrong. But Balaam was stopped from his mad course when his donkey rebuked him with a human voice. These people are as useless as dried-up springs or as mist blown away by the wind. They are doomed to blackest darkness. They brag about themselves with empty, foolish boasting. With an appeal to twisted sexual desires, they lure back into sin those who have barely escaped from a lifestyle of deception. They promise freedom, but they themselves are slaves of sin and corruption. For you are a slave to whatever controls you. And when people escape from the wickedness of the world by knowing our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and then get tangled up and enslaved by sin again, they are worse off than before. It would be better if they had never known the way to righteousness than to know it and then reject the command they were given to live a holy life. They prove the truth of this proverb: “A dog returns to its vomit.” And another says, “A washed pig returns to the mud.”
2 Peter 2:1-22 NLT
The lord knows how to rescue the Godly from the trials of this world.
This was a tough read at first, then my beautiful wife asked me to focus on the good within the chapter. I was a real game changer for me.

Peace That Stands Guard - Overcome Anxiety of Life - Worship Song

Some days I still struggle with anxiety. It's no longer like it once was where I feared to get out of bed or leave the house. Today if I give ...Our Father my worries, I tend to have a much better day. One that allows me to accomplish what He has for me.
“Always be full of joy in the Lord. I say it again—rejoice! Let everyone see that you are considerate in all you do. Remember, the Lord is coming soon. Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise. Keep putting into practice all you learned and received from me—everything you heard from me and saw me doing. Then the God of peace will be with you.”

In today’s world I worry what others are seeing and thinking of me. I just need to get on my knees and give ALL to God.
“Give all your worries ...and cares to God, for he cares about you." 1 Peter 5:7 NLT
We can give God all our worries,
• Financial pressures
• Health uncertainties
• Family conflicts
• Future decisions
and more.
1 Peter 5:7 calls believers to an active transfer of every worry onto the Lord. We cast—decisively and completely—every anxiety on Him, confident that His loving, personal care outweighs every burden. Trusting His character frees our hearts from the grip of fear and places our lives securely in His faithful hands.

Proverbs 29:11
"A fool gives full vent to his anger, but a wise person holds it in check."
We may view anger ...as a normal part of the competitive environment. Or we may be tempted to rationalize anger as an unavoidable response to the failure of teammates, players, officials or others to do what they’re supposed to do. But is speaking or acting out of anger wise? ——If we feel like we have to control our situation and have things go a certain way for life to be okay, we get angry when this isn’t happening. When we’re insulted or challenged by someone, we feel like we have to protect ourselves and fight for our rights. When something feels unfair or our expectations are not being met, we fly off the handle because we think our wellbeing is threatened. We express our anger in unhelpful, unhealthy and hurtful ways.
Wise people recognize God is in control and He is with us. We can trust Him with unfavorable circumstances. When something triggers the emotion of anger, we’re careful to remember what is true. We can be confident in God’s presence and protection—so we no longer feel the need to protect ourselves or fight for our rights when someone pushes our buttons. Our identity is defined by Christ, not what others say or do to us—so we can stay calm when insulted. We know that God is ultimately in control. Our life and our future are secure in Him—so we can quietly hold back rather than venting anger.
There will always be situations in sports and life that can make you feel angry. Wise competitors carefully guard against allowing anger to have a foolish, destructive role in how they speak, act or react. Instead, let the truth of God’s sovereignty and His presence with you dictate your response to potential triggers, enabling you to hold your anger in check.

Greatest Is Love - Worship Music - 1 Corinthians 13

I asked my beautiful wife to share a Bible verse or chapter that has been on her heart. 1 Corinthians 13 quickly came to her mind.
1 Corinthians 13
If I ...speak in the tongues[a] of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. 2 If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. 3 If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast,[b] but do not have love, I gain nothing.
4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
8 Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. 9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part, 10 but when completeness comes, what is in part disappears. 11 When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me. 12 For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.

Before I Speak - How to listen before speaking
Today I’d like to focus on my competitive spirit. One that can get me ...
Today I’d like to focus on my competitive spirit. One that can get me into trouble when I don’t hold my tongue.
Proverbs 21:23 speaks to this:
“The one who guards ...his mouth and tongue keeps himself out of trouble.”
When competitive emotions are running high, holding our tongue can keep us from sinning against others with destructive words.
So much trouble and damage can be avoided when we pause to consider our words before we say them. Proverbs 10:19 observes, “When there are many words, sin is unavoidable, but the one who controls his lips is prudent.” During intense moments in games or when a practice feels more frustrating than fruitful, it’s tempting to speak before we’ve thought about the impact our words will have. Even when we’re joking around with teammates or fellow coaches, we can say things we think will be humorous—but when we later think about it, we realize our words were hurtful.
Being a wise competitor involves developing the discipline of using your words well. Look to the Lord to do this. Trust Christ’s power and grace to enable you to speak in ways that honor Him in the sphere of influence He’s given you.
I need to focus on Proverbs 18:13 says, “The one who gives an answer before he listens—this is foolishness and disgrace for him.”
Being highly competitive in life I utilize Fellowship of Christian Athletes for one of my daily devotions. This one hit home and hope it helps in your walk, run, and daily life with Jesus.
